Don’t be a hooker . . . I mean hacker with your golf style

Who wears short-shorts? It’s not the real women golfers. I spend most of my summer walking public golf courses with girls and young women that golf. Not only are these ladies great athletes, they follow golf dress codes: the shorts and skirts are mid-calf to knee length and the tops are conservative. Unfortunately, many adult women are not following their lead and show up on the course in short-shorts and cleavage, they look like hookers . . . I mean hackers (see Victoria’s Secret shorts above, yes I’ve seen this type of outfit at public courses). If women want to be treated as equals on the course, then we must dress the part. Stop complaining about not being respected on the course if you think that skanky is okay. When was the last time you saw a man golfing in a wife-beater and flip-flops? Well this is what I saw a woman golfer wearing in Vail, Colorado. Go figure. I look forward to the day they are told to return with a decent shirt.
Whether you like a fashion-forward golf look (see Ralph Lauren number above), or a more classic style (see Monterey above) there is something for every female golfer. Keep the short-shorts for other activities.

Can you recommend any places to buy good golf hats for women, something besides baseball caps or visors?

Not that stay on your head! We have tried everything from cowboy hats to the those round brim Aussie type hats, the latter do work, but not as flattering as visor. We go to the same places you do to look, Golf Galaxy, etc. We did get a cute hat that looks like a train conductor hat at Forever 21! If you find something let us know.
