Bumpits
August 31st, 2009
I believe in that old saying “The higher the hair, the closer to G-d”. Honestly, I fell in love with big hair in the ’80s and my relationship has never waned. This is why I choose my hairdressers based on their teasing abilities and few can top Pam Grieve at Salon Posh. At a recent party I noticed that she and her friends all had this big beautiful hair and I decided to buy the highly acclaimed Bumpits, $19.95 at Bed Bath & Beyond, or on-line. Bumpits are plastic arch-shaped inserts with self-gripping teeth that give you that teased look at the crown of your head. Designed to be concealed (good luck concealing if you have thin hair) the concept it great. I have thick hair and had to really tease and spray to get them to stay in my hair. I placed my Bumpit at the crown, teased and sprayed at the scalp and went to a party all dolled up. Half-way during by dancing to Mama Mia, my Bumpit fell out, I think the teeth need to be longer. I don’t know what’s worse, a Bumpit stuck in my tangled hair, or cutlets on the floor. You decide.
