Love, Loss and What I Wore
October 24th, 2009Nora and Delia Ephron
Style Matters loves it when a book comes out that is all about the pressures women face to look good all the time. “Love, Loss and What I Wore,” a pictorial autobiography by advertising executive Ilene Beckerman, is just such a book. She shares pictures of everything she wore from her elementary school togs to her two weddings. The book is so clever that screenwriting sisters Nora (Julie and Julia) and Delia (The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants) Ephron, have turned it into an evening of monologues now playing in NY. The rotating casts features stars such as Tyne Daly, Rosie O’Donnell, Rhea Perlman, and Daily show comedienne Samantha Bee. The Ephron sisters have added their own material about mother/daughter relationships, death, dating and more into what should be a fabulous show. Sort of like the Vagina Monologues without all the cringing embarrassing parts.
